Do you have to go through all the security questions to flatten positions?

There probably just referring to potentially non segregated accounts. IB's security accounts are segregated as well as far as i know.

I wonder if they would really investigate the activity of 80,000 accounts to weed out non securities trading securities accounts.

So if you are only trading futures with less than $100,000 I'm guessing it's better to choose the commodities account given the questionable SIPC coverage? Are securities accounts "segregated" like commodities accounts?
