Another example today of bad pricing on the Pair Trader software. Picked up erroneous trade on CAT at 88.53 showing an enormous profit on longs taken last week. Stock has not traded over 75.20 as of 9:51 ET time.

As I have noted in previous posts, a certain % of trades are unrealistic in terms of execution(one stock is trading overnight while the other is inactive) and are in many case the most lucrative in terms of performance. This is not an insignificant issue like the typo farce.

I agree. But the problem is that there is no realistic way to trade this pair at those prices. In reviewing the performance of the system this"trade" among others will show better results than reality.

Johnnysharp: How do manage emotionally to sit with a position like this(large loser on both sides). Do you have any advice for handling the stress that this kind of trade creates?

Most of the time? Is somebody actually handling the order manually? I am not trying to beat this to death, but is this an IB application that is exclusive to them, or can anyone achieve this trading through other firms?

I don't mean to quibble but, how does one get executions at market closing prices in Nasdaq stocks? I know that you can put in MOC orders in NYSE and the specialists accept those orders 20 minutes before the close but I was unaware of any similar program on NASDAQ stocks.
