Yeah, I think the change there is fairly recent although I'm not sure and don't know the exact number but I think it's closer to $8/rt.

Just FYI, the commish is $5 in their combine but has been raised for guys once they are live. So that right there is a small difference between the combine and being funded.

Mav, There's been a few changes at TST with regards to funded guys. From what I've been told there are no more free combines for funded guys who then get sent back to the combine. It used to be free combines for life and then it went to two free combines and now I believe it's none.

Volente, I'm also funded with tst so I can answer your question. Once you hit the cushion you can take a check and don't need to maintain the $5k. Obviously it would be silly if your balance is $5k to take out $4k because then if your balance ends at 0 at the end of a day you're done. I think...

Yup, crude has had a nice trend all morning. Have you gone into the chat room at TST yet? There are lots of good traders in the rooms who are always sharing ideas. If you're just starting out in futures then just have one of the rooms up and observe what the guys are doing who make money.

I'm sure there probably is but the only thing I'm trading right now is crude. I just make sure I know when rollover is coming and then switch to the new month the first day that the volume is higher. That's why I switched to Nov this morning.

I started trading Nov today. To always be in the right month just look at the T4 DOM and trade whichever month has the most volume.

That's the exact reason why guys have been saying not to trade the ES. With the vix this low it's just not a good proposition. Go take a look at todays crude chart. There's almost a $3 range just since the pit open with a pretty obvious trend.

The best reason I would say is for access to more capital. If you can sign up and pass the combine then it's like a cheap call option.

I don't think the point of TST is to teach people how to trade. TST is there more to provide funding for profitable traders. Sure they have classes where they teach some different market techniques but for the most part you are responsible for your own trading. This isn't one of these deals...

I agree. I've done the combine and the fills are realistic. I had a live T4 account running at the same time and there was very little difference.
