Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone is using Clojure to programme trading strategies or have tried. What is your review of it,is it worth my time to learn it if i would like to use it for automated trading?
Thanks in advance.
Ruby..........is OOP plus good meta-programming techniques. It basically allows you to be more creative than most languages and you can test out idea's much quicker as development is much easier. It lacks in speed vs Java c++, but can be implemented at a number of lower frequencies, but this is...
I agree, something doesn't seem right. In no way can u make a system better with the info you are providing. An experienced trader would know this and wouldn't waste our time, so my question is what are u really looking for?
Its more the matter of using the right tool for the right job. Ruby is faster than what it was in 2007 and u can make it faster. There is no dispute that c++ is the standard, but its really only a necessity when doing HFF. Ruby is not a toy language, u can create a lot more in Ruby than in c++...
Makes sense to me......maybe couple yrs down the line we get a Ruby compiler and make Ruby speed competitive to c++, then there is no competition. I have looked at Marketcera and its perfect for what i need........i have not jumped into metaprogramming yet in Ruby but have watched a 1hr online...
Thanks, taking a look at it. I just realised that Marketcera offers programming in multiple languages and it is opensource. Do u use this or have knowledge of it?
Is anyone using Ruby to program trading strategies? I am just curious since i know that most people use c++ or java. I am currently reading through some stuff on it and it looks good so far. Its not as fast as c++ but is more fun. Therefore for HFT it would not be suitable but for lower...
