1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Berlin wants to come up with laws to curb or totally ban high frequency trading. http://www.advancedtrading.com/algorithms/are-hfts-days-winding-down/240008125?cid=nl_at_daily&elq=14bc4afb708c4082ad852f088eb7d5c5 The germans main intend for the ftt was to destroy HFT and daytrading because...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Yes, summer can be quiet sometimes. However when I looked at those french stocks the Augusts of the years 2011 and back weren't actually that quiet. This was just a first look. I'll wait until year end. I also will check german stocks should they follow this stupid idea of a ftt. This isn't...

There are many proofs that governments won't ever learn. And the french and germans are wondering "why wouldn't Sweden join us for the greater cause?". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15123470

"For Show" is a good one. Today I checked out some those french stocks from the list subject to FTT: http://ibkb.interactivebrokers.com/node/1963 I wanted to see if the introduction had any impact on their daily trading volume. Most of the stocks I checked out had about 1/3rd less trading...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

This is funny/strange/awkward... ? So according to http://ibkb.interactivebrokers.com/node/1963 the ft tax is only for stocks listed on a French regulated market or companies headquartered in France. Let's see how does that play out for those stocks. According to german news last year...

    BBC Documentary: Euro Crash

The best thing about the documentary is that they show that it's the politicians who rode the world into the crisis, and not us evil speculators.

I hope that institutions and traders are smart and angry enough to move out of the old country.

    AMZN flash crash

Somebody sold 1.4M shares all at once at 14:45. Anybody took a chance to short it? I tried. I'm so used to limit oders. And the move was so fast and went so far, I didn't get in. After 5 minutes the move was over. Instead I went long the pullback and did quite profitable.

France, Germany to Propose Financial-Transaction Tax

In my not so humble opinion, anybody who calls himself a trader and is proposing for a FTT is betraying his own profession and should be punished.

France, Germany to Propose Financial-Transaction Tax

If you're talking about the currency market then that HFT percentage is probably even higher. As for option markets the volume is so low I don't see how HFT could work there. My job as a stock trader is to look for opportunities and setups to get into a trade. Those "fake orders" whatever...

France, Germany to Propose Financial-Transaction Tax

HTT and algos are a running business. Their capital gains will be taxed after all like any other income. You destroy this business then you'll have nothing at all. And there are still more people/traders than algos trading. Stupids just blame anything for something they cannot understand...
