    Well I have to admit that I'm learning more and more, but I still don't know a powerful lot about trading and finance etc. I know there are salaried traders who work for banks and such, so I'm wondering what kind of education or experience you need to get into that.

    So getting back to my original question, which of the two, a quantitative PhD or an MBA, would you say is best to get into something like what you said about structured derivative trading products "where the real money's at"? So I guess what I'm really asking is which typically pays better...

    Where do you guys think the best salary and/or overall job opportunities in finance exist for a current physics student? A PhD, possibly in mathematical finance, or an MBA. The PhD would probably be better to land a quant job, but I've recieved ambiguous info. about that career from browsing...
