The Tao of Minimalistic Trading: $300 Daily Profit

schizo- well, I like this thread and thanks for starting it. (ignore is the typical ET wet rag or two). I trade ES for 2 hours every day taking only a certain bar pattern. some days it brings in $300 on 1 contract, some days not. few days in the negative however--if I follow my own damn...

Interesting Strategy, Do Moon Cycles affect the markets?

I have in my archives a system developed by Welles Wilder based on moon cycles. I bought it on impulse but never used it. If anyone wants it, I'll make a good deal.

How do you guys prepare for you intraday trading ?

I like (most) of this thread. so I'll just answer the q as posed and avoid the arguments. I have a pre-market checklist out on my desk. like a pilots checklist I suppose. It includes a range of stuff from bathroom routine to clearing the visual field on my desk and monitors (only 2). I trade...

Rithmic Announces Nonrenewal of Zen-Fire Use

Last week I initiated a new AMP account and began with a wire from Mirus to AMP. Today I checked and Mirus is experiencing technical difficulties but assured me the wire would go thru today. mass exodus?

    Aberration and Andromeda Trading Systems

I have never traded or tested it but I do have the Tradestation els if you are interested (circa 1996). It appears to buy when close is above top Boll Band and exist when price hits the 35 days moving average. It also appears to be a reversal system; the sell logic is the inverse of above.

Is it possible to make $2000 on a $5000 account EVERYDAY?

Thanks for the idea. I have no idea if the guy is for real but the prima facia is intriguing enough for additional study. I also we through two of the MarketDelta vid's and found them done well and instructive. I just ignore the snarling peanut gallery. If you must demean another to...

    Futures Correlations

if you do this without a continuus contract, consider doing the correlation contract by contract if they two series are "co-terminus". that is, if they expire on the same date. I would try to avoid low volume data points. if using cont contracts, I would still use multiple time samples...

    Trend following opening range breakout

You will need intraday data to do this. I'd suggest doing some reading first; this is a well-traveled road. You could go to TradingMarkets.com and see if the Kevin Haggarty articles are still around on this subject. There is also a book by Jim Smith (I think) that was based only this...

    Profitable Trend Trading Strategy

Chris-- In looking at your chart it looks like the blue/red line is your stop. It also looks like it is based on ATR of the intraday bars. On your first post you mentions "5 to 7 days". Thanks for clarification.

    Trend indicators

My understanding of the questions you are posing began when I learned to use TradeStation in 1997 or so. By forcing oneself to codify the logic of trend, signal, entry, exit etc. you internalize many of the answers to the q's you are asking. I'm not a mechanical systems trader but use such...

I heard a little rumor, 80% of volume on CME GLOBEX is AUTOMATED?

I like to follow Cross Currents (www.crosscurrents.net). Every once in a while since late 90's he speaks to the (former) stock market bubble. He has been lamented the % of program trading on the NYSE. It is above 50% I expect although I haven't check recently. So, program trading on NYSE...
