    CitiFX TradeStream

No, it is for traders, and there is no account minimum. Commissions is a low $10/M, half of Interactive Brokers if you are trading less than $1.5B per month. I just wonder if the liquidity is as good or better than IB or HotspotFX.

Has anyone traded on CitiFX TradeStream? How do the fill prices compared with Interactive Brokers, HotspotFX or other ECNs?

    News Service

Yes, I confirmed that with IB. Does anyone know why they dropped Reuters? Is there any comparable service with similar fees that we IB traders can subscribe to? Thanks in advance.

    best language for quantiative analysis

You can buy the statistics toolbox (or some freeware Matlab library) if you don't find enough statistics functions in Matlab. See epchan.blogspot.com for some examples of trading analysis using Matlab.

    looks pretty good.

I would suggest that the most important thing to check is that they will give you your deposit back when you ask for it. Not every prop trading firm is reputable. Commissions and leverage is, to my mind, secondary concerns.

First you have to trade in their office for sometime and make some money before they trust you to trade remote. In the end, it all depends...

Historical mutual fund total asset value data?

Does anyone know where I can get historical mutual fund "total asset value" data cheaply? I don't mean historical NAV data -- I can get that easily from their end-of-day quotes. I mean NAV*num_shares = total value of a fund's assets, on at least a quarterly frequency. Thanks!

    Look for a good broker

Futuretrader, I haven't tried withdrawing funds from IB yet, so I don't know if it is problematic or not. The easiest way to test it is to deposit a small amount, say $2000, and then withdraw it electronically. Since all their deposit/withdrawal is via electronic fund transfer with your...

    Look for a good broker

Have you checked out Interactive Brokers? They allow you to trade Eminis, and soon, pit-traded contracts too. They do have Excel DDE where you get real time quotes and order execution ability. They also have ActiveX.

Are there any honest, reliable prop firms out there?

I am looking into joining a prop firm myself and am doing some due diligence. Since most prop firms (e.g. Bright Trading) requires Series 7, I thought the firms themselves would be registered as broker-dealer, and thus we can look up their files (including any possible SEC regulatory...
