So assuming I'm coloed with or near my broker, it seems like the thing to worry about are my broker's processing speeds. So who would you suggest? And who's best for clearing?

Unfortunately I think those market data centers are above my budget; I was thinking more like just doing a standard colo at CBOT or Lakeside... and my volume won't be enough to justify going direct. Hadn't even heard of GuavaTech before, good to hear of more options OK, will stay away from TT...

I have noticed slowdowns before, but exactly what is going on at the exchange would be speculation on my part. When I have inquired, it usually turns out to be unspecified technical difficulties at the broker. flame wars aren't really my thing I'd really like to know why you think you know...

are you serious? do you have any idea how little bandwidth an order takes compared to all the streaming video / audio people do nowadays? any idea how little computer processing power internet-speed order flow uses? with all the fees paid to the broker & exchange, if they can't keep...

could be delayed in the sense "oops we missed a couple hundred shares from a transaction, better print those" or off-exchange transactions that can be reported whenever they feel like it that trading day :)

From what I remember, it's close to $20k/mo per terminal for the comprehensive package. I'm sure you can get the price jacked up even more if you try ;)

Does your big download slow down too? If so, you're probably getting throttled. If not, your big download is probably choking out the other computers' bandwidth. Getting a router with QoS would help. I doubt your ISP is dumb enough to allocate bandwidth per IP, but you can always try...

I read an article this morning about Korean businesses recently losing over 60 billion won on kick-in kick-out (KIKO) currency options. I can't find any details about what those are. Anyone care to enlighten?
