You may be able to get yourself an assitant position on a proprietary desk at an Ibank but you will obviously have to target that specific desk and then be very persisitent and direct about getting a chance on that desk you will be doing research p and l statements calculations for those prop...

I would agree there, a lot of people say the computer will calculate your plain vanilla option so it's easy but they don't understand the gearing effect or vols and and structuring and they get f**ked to put it plainly.

Bond Trader-what you think about OTC options in speculative positions or prop directional positions.

And the stuff you read in books about what influences markets and how they react to large trades it's all bullshit, the fx market works nothing like that in reality although obviously a traders are still trading medium and long term their view of the value of the currency.

Everything I have said here was gained from my internship in those three weeks on the spot fx trading desk I learnt more than I did in one and a half years reading text books, they don't teach you shit just enough to make you breeze through the interview as a lot of gradutes actually don't even...

Prop traders in fx are totally separate from market makers, when there was a large order they all get together and to save trashing the amrket they spread it out to tap the liquidity through different deal matching systems and voice brokers buut the prop traders are not involved, and all market...
