I use Scottrade now and that's all I do is short stocks between $5-$20 on the Nasdaq. However I have been debating on moving to IB because I have had a few stocks that were unshortable. And when I looked them up on IB's shortable stocks they were there. So if I were you I would just go to IB.

Thanks for making that point clear. I am not shorting "every" top gainer. I am very selective on which stocks I short everyday. Each one has a certain criteria it has to meet in order to be put on my watch list for the day.

Dustin that is a good idea to go both ways. I will start watching the loosers as well and see if I can get comfortable with them. I have noticed that if I short three stocks a day I can usually make money on two out of the three trades.

Thanks for the tips guys.. I just did what you said and put all my eggs in one basket . I used all the money I had and all the margin money I had and bought google just before close today. I sure hope you guys are right.. otherwise Im gonna be out a lot of money.
