I can see why the brokers would want to do that but wouldn't they be fined by the SEC? I was thinking of moving my money to another account to get around this.

I accidently made my fourth day trade today.. while trying open a position. Obviously I have less than $25,000 in my account. Is the 90 day restriction just for the particular account, or does it apply to every account I own?
After talking about getting into the stock market for years a friend and I opened a tdameritrade account and funded it equally. I was left in charge of managing the account and do all the trading.

Thanks for your advice. A sizable chunk of my account is in those puts. I am probably going to liquidate them tomorrow. I had a really good run with PCLN until this happened.
So as hard it was go and check what I would have had I held on..I did This option had a high of .67 cents today so basically I would have had 21 dollars for each dollar I put in.. :eek:
just starting trading options a few weeks. I seriously thought I was getting a bargain.:D Oh well.. looks like I just might get out with a little extra.

anyone know why BAC has options which expire this Friday (september 3rd)? I was under the impression that all options expired on the third friday of the month. I mistakenly bought some ( $13 call ) thinking they were the the september 18 ones. Oh well... alteast it was very little money
