windows vista ... yes or no

Got a rig about 3 months ago with Vista running 2 IB TWS's and a ButtonTrader (in order to separate execution from charting). With decent specs (4 gig ram, Core 2 Duo, GeForce 8600 GTS etc), it runs very smoothly without any problems at all. I'm especially impressed with heavy volume...

    Ewj: elliott wave

Thanks, I like the ES journal thread and it has some decent traders out there but it's also got too much noise that I'd rather not bother with. Your thread, on the other hand, is nice and quiet, with quality market analysis on your part. Once again, keep up the good work! :)

We amateurs have our days too :) 11:30 was a good time to close any morning shorts along with capitulating Eurpeans (also 53-55 area coincided with measured first and today's volume indicates it's possible that we bounce to the low-mid 60s area on ES at least. If the A/D doesn't tick up...

    Ewj: elliott wave

Gotta watch the price action in the morning carefully in regards to the neckline in the 69-71 area and of course, the gap. The jobs number was so bad, WS might say it's good (the rate cut's in the bag). :D

    Ewj: elliott wave

One of the reasons I'm leaning toward the bearish side today for the near term is that I'm noticing a head & shoulders pattern with the left shoulder being formed last Friday. Bulls put up a decent fight to put us above it today but couldn't. Maybe they'll try it again tonight when volume's...

Hmm. . .the rally attempt today hasn't been that impressive either, so far. . . Couldn't even fill the gap! I'd give more odds on us seeing a lower low like you say, but then tomorrow's big numbers can affect the market in unexpected ways. It's certainly uncertain times.

This sell-off looks a little tame & lame, even with a -2000 A/D on NYSE. Unless we gather downside momo in the afternoon and trend all day long, which to me seems rather unlikely at the moment, it looks like it's a dip before a higher high (I hope so, 'cause I haven't plunged in just yet, just...

Keep discussing shorter term waves as well. It motivates me as a reader to think about key levels and it's been financially rewarding for me as well :). Having to correct and adjust is what we always must do as traders, unless we're in to be market gurus (which I'm not). Keep it up! My...

    Ewj: elliott wave

Nice call again! :) Now, this thing looks a little impulsive (do I see five waves already? 1 to1447, 2 to 1439.25 3 to 1450 4 to 1447 then 5 stalling at 1453 all on S&P futures which I trade; sorry I'm a total ew noob and have no experience in counting) and we have GDP & Bernanke rest of the...

Nice call on the short term S&P & Dow wave 2 top. I don't do wave analysis but my target once we broke the rising wedge yesterday was 1435 on ES (based on the fed faux rate cut high low last Friday; a few points below 1438 pivot on S&P but I'm surprised how quickly we got here). Do you think...

Huge Bet In SEP SPY Calls

Looks like the trade might've happened around 10:50 AM based on the volume spike and the traded prices on options. I'm really interested in finding out whether the bids or the offers were taken out (I'm thinking bids, contrary to Atticus's assertion, but what do I know?)...

Huge Bet In SEP SPY Calls

Anybody remembers what happened to index options right before Greenspan suddenly cut 50 bps during the RTH in 2001? TIA
