Guy I know who works at refco on the last grad program says people there 1 1/2 yrs still are not making money and refco have moved people back on the simulator from live.
London office isnt great - I should know as I worked there for a bit - it was 1/2 empty most of the time.
I will give the consulting thing a try - you never know. Its possible but with only a BA (albeit a good one I think unlikely).
Thanks for the suggestion. Bind I am in is I am overqualified for Mcjobs and underqualified for other jobs.
I do worry how trading will be looked at - I dont...
That is certainly part of it. Firm I work at is actually really flexible - they have a guy only doing long term (Days/Months) trades. They have people who do a couple of trades a day. It is not all about Roundtrips. I am somewhere in the middle - looking to do maybe 4/5 trades a day - I can...
Cheers electric - I have worked at the bottom before - in bars, shops etc.... It really isnt that bad - most of the bad things associated with those sorts of jobs are because of the way people in those sorts of jobs live - gambling drinking and the people they surround themselves with. Once you...
Electric - I am not going to walk out with nothing to go to. I probably will be fired but not for a while yet. I am sending out resumes like crazy to find anything I can to support myself while I work out what to do - luckily there is a very tight labour market in the UK so the chances of me...
Thanks Lar - I think you are right in that I am generally unfocussed - I have plenty of talent but my motivation is highly limited - I am not pressed for time I have a couple of months at least before I will probably be fired. This is if I cannot show any profitability. I want to leave before I...

My trades have no positive...
yes - I have a Oxbridge 2:1 but I have no real experience. This makes finding things difficult...
It is really hard to get a job as an investment analyst - though this is what I am looking at - even though I want out of the whole investment arena ASAP !
Hi I am a British prop trader. I started three of months ago on a simulator and have realised it is just not for me.
I do not have the balls to accept the risk and I hate the volatility inherent in trading as your only source of income. I really really want to get out as quickly as...
RE: Investment banks - yeah I could apply I did a while ago - I doubt I would get in without a masters / work experience. And even then it is a long shot - they get that many applications it is just a lottery ticket. I do have contacts but I would never use them - not in my nature. Self...
Yeah office is above a waitrose - but inside it looks all right - weirdly laid out but allright.
It isnt in a dodgy area at all Weybridge is one of the most expensive places in the country. The office is pretty much in the centre. Though I should think it would cost less than a Central...
