Are shorts more available at Prop firms?

I don't know if prop firms have better short lists than retail shops but I do know that Penson has the WORST easy to borrow list I've ever seen!!! Seems like 1 out of every 2 shorts I enter is denied. I'm closing my Penson-based account as soon as I find a broker with more easy-to-borrows...

Best prop firm for remote traders

Predator Pro is a freeekin joke from what I've seen. Their filtering software looks like their programmer did everything he could to copy Neovest's interface while avoiding copyright infringement. It's lack of data fields and linkable analytics windows make it totally worthless IMO.

    Robotic/Auto-execution self-designed program trading

There's a lot of techniques that can benefit from automation. I use Neovest's IOG system and it allows me to do things I could never do if I had to enter trades manually (like taking advantage of short-term price aberations). I just wouldn't be able to get in and out (and update orders) fast...

    Day Trading Stats

25% of traders packed up in 2002, but 40% since have gone kaput since 2000.

    Comission and Bullet Rates

I've had excellent luck with Essex Radez bullets. I just type in the symbol and press return and I'm up on 1000 bullets in less than a second...and it's never gone down on me.

    TraderBulletin.com

There was something today on www.traderbulletin.com that made me wonder. It says specialists are making less money even though their volume is increasing. If specialists are making less money on their principle trading, I'm guessing they're going to do anything they can to make more money from...

    TraderBulletin.com

This is a cool site that I haven't seen a link for before. There's an interesting article about NYSE trading, OpenBook, etc.. http://www.traderbulletin.com/stories/storyReader$114

    Security: beware of BlackIce Defender

Try Zone Alarm. It's free, has lots of features, and can restrict (protect you from) individual sites/programs very nicely.

    Echotrade Sterling users

I'm sad to say that my experience with Sterling hasn't been so good. I've been continually plagued by randomly closing windows, slow data updates in fast moving stocks, stuck book quotes, freezing, and slow chart loads. For whatever reason I've never been able to get a resolution from Sterling...

    Lynx Capital Partners

Who the hell needs the aggravation of studying for two more tests? There's several firms out there with great rates and technology that don't require a 55 and 63. And thanks for the knock on my ambition Lord Doofus.

    Lynx Capital Partners

:( I was hoping that wasn't the case. I'll find a firm that only requires the series 7. Thanks!

    Lynx Capital Partners

Anyone know what licenses Andover and Lynx Capital require to trade over 4-1 margin?

    Trader Assoiciation

There's already a bunch of firms offering low rates. I'd rather find a firm with a great order entry system that doesn't cost me $200 a day due to outages or slowness.

    Flat Panel Monitors

Anyone had any experience hooking DVI flat panels to the Appian Typhoon card and running them from a laptop (using a docking station for the video card)?
