Here in Italy the situation is much worse for traders than showed on this article.. the taxation proposed by the government and that could become law in the next few months is 0,05% for stocks and also for derivatives. So they will totally kill trading on derivatives in Italy... I recognize that...

Only financial institution that is estabilished in a member state have to pay this tax. It is not referred to individuals. So, if a private use a european broker he has to pay the tax. Non-EU brokers will be very happy!!!
