what is puzzling is how someone hasn't found a loophole in the "retail model" that would provide the leverage and SIPC and supplemental insurance. That would be a great marketing ploy if someone could figure a way to use insurance and the appearance of quasi- governmental oversight.

oil goes up, the dollar goes down and the stock market stays buoyant then gold must go up. It doesn't seem to be reacting favorably to increased geopolitical risk. That's for sure.

Moore's Law says these ethanol producers drop by 50% every few months... not withstanding a few hiccups... not including ADM.

Buffett is the last person in the world to go long ethanol. In fact, at his last Capitalist Woodstock, or whatever he calls the shindig, he said there was no value whatsoever in ethanol production. Ethanol is a commodity with low barrier to entry. Farmers have made it for years.

convert it to a biodiesel and it will run on french fry grease. The neighbors will love the smell.

you might as well run premium over ethanol... there is a net loss on fuel efficiency as compared with premium. GM and other makers have designed engines to run on E85 and even on those engines there is a cost disincentive.
