    Warning to all Bitcoin investors

I'll update this thread in a few years time. It's in a retirement account, so I don't need it until 2028. Knowing my luck, I'll be retiring a poor dumbass. :D

    Warning to all Bitcoin investors

I've just made a sizeable investment. My investing track record is terrible. I seem to have a knack for picking dogs. Nothing I've invested in has ever done well. And I hold on to these laggards for years. Basically, I'm a jinx; with the opposite of a Midas touch. Anyway, you can't say you...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I don't daytrade but I do something a bit like the previous posts but on a longer timeframe. With the retirement account I'm using, I can only go long but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work on the short side. I look for stocks that have (a) gone up a lot in the past year, and (b) are...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I happen to know one. https://www.tradersimon.com I've no idea if there's any merit in his 'supply and demand' approach but I do know for a fact he's been more successful t******* it than t****** it. ;) One of the most important things to take away from this thread is, if someone is selling...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Unlikely because I've been doing BHASH/SLABL for a couple of years or so. If it was purely down to luck then I doubt it would have lasted this long.

    Bitcoin Price Thread

I remember having this mentality back in the late 90s during the dotcom bubble. I was working for a tech firm at the time. In 1999 I think it was, the MD stepped down to become a daytrader, and to many of us it didn't seem that daft at the time. It was all just easy money. What I can't work...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Indeed but I can only speak from experience that BHASH/SLABL has given me less random results. This kind of makes sense to me because MOMO is one of very few market anomalies which has consistently, and persistently, defied the EMH.

    Bitcoin Price Thread

How can something with a market cap of $1 trillion be so damn volatile? The thing moves faster than a lot of penny stocks.

Why is Gold down with inflation at 5%?

I've learned to expect the unexpected, and that prediction is futile. When interest rates were zirp'd back in 2008, we were told it was a short-term measure. Who'd have thought they'd stay rock bottom for 13 years, with little prospect of them going up for many more years. Throughout most of my...

Oh, I see. I assumed most people were still trying to do *L*** and *H***.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I've had a few PMs asking about the way I trade. Honestly, I'm really not the right person to help or mentor anyone else. And, besides, I don't think many would find what I'm doing very appealing. I now only do ***** and *****. nysestocks refers to this in 4 posts.

Why is Gold down with inflation at 5%?

If you think that's crazy, silver is cheaper than it was 41 years ago! If you adjust for inflation, it's worth less than a quarter of what it was in 1980. https://www.macrotrends.net/1470/historical-silver-prices-100-year-chart

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Kind of. I'm often going long where my previous self would have been looking to go short, and vice versa. :D

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

It's a few years since I visited this site. I see the obvious pre-req has been stated. You need to start out with a way of trading which actually works. nysestocks mentions a different way. It's stated in black & white in a few posts. I know this is better than the mainstream way because I...
