As a new trader, When shopping around for a prop firm, what key information should I ask for? for instance: - startup fee - fee per long/short share bought - payout ratio etc... but also what else and what's the usual range for each within the industry? Thank you, Hugo

Thanks for your quick reply. Also I was wondering if it is better to join a firm that does not require personal contribution, as it would create an incentive for them to be more involved with training?

Indeed I have realized that most firms are better at promising than actually delivering. That's why I was hoping to find somebody in the forum that knows from experience which firms are the serious ones, considering they are not easy to find for an outsider...

Hey Don, I don't live far from great neck. I was just wondering if your prop firm would consider training and mentoring a motivated recent grad student? I have met with a few prop firms in Manhattan but never really felt comfortable working with them. Thanks for your time. Hugo
