Hey Christians, what excuses can you drum up this time?

Someone told me once that "religion is made by man, for man. Assuming there is a higher spiritual power with a head to shake in sorrow or utter disbelief at some of what happens in the name of religion... If God has anything to do with it... it is only out of mercy or grace on his/her part."...

Hey Christians, what excuses can you drum up this time?

"I'm an agnostic but leaning toward believing there is some type of higher spiritual power" ...To what degree do you consider yourself "spiritual but not religious"? Or does that concept apply to you at all; or even make any sense in your experience?

    How not to lose money

Well... First understand that from an emotional/psych POV, as soon as we place a trade - or pass on a qualified one - to some extent we've already lost. IMO. If the trade was profitable, did it keep moving and we didn't catch all the profit? Or had it gone further into profit and we gave some...

Tithing - Charity starts in the home

Market watch has a guy who talks about things like this: Quentin Fottrell Might be an interesting question for him. I have a distant relative by marriage who is high level disabled... able to function somewhat in society. Basically manual labor jobs. As he aged past his 50's he has done less...

What are actions you can take to build your trading skills while the markets are closed?

One of the best pieces of advice I had trouble with initially was: “Don’t make it harder than it is.” Discretionary trading is not complicated, it’s just hard to do. Many traders reach the level where they work out what to do, they just can’t do it. The “what to do” isn’t so hard, the doing...

Which type of trader are you?

Not denying the profit part. But the money is just a measure of the game, from a certain POV. A big part of why I started to trade is because it is hard -- many try, few succeed. An inner journey... Could I do it? Prove it. Self knowledge, a test of one's limits, stretching one's limits...

has anyone use a trading psychologist?

I paid for one several years ago. He did a thorough explanation of the psychology of trading and the pitfalls most run into. He explained several approaches to dealing with the issues… mindfulness… behavior modification… etc. There were phone calls one on one. But in the end, the bottom...

Time spent learning the craft of trading.

Trading being 90% time-wise something other than the pure logic of entries and management makes sense IMO. The "trader's personality" and "trader's mindset" to me are like a 'hat' I put on when I sit down to trade. I don't think we are born with it. It is something that can be cultivated...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Compared to some that might not be much... but compared to a lot of people out in the work world, this is very good. I'm curious how much time and energy you put into trading? Are you sitting there during all regular hours diligently focusing? Up in the night looking for entries? Spending...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

There was a trader once here who said he lost 5K because of a call of nature. So he had a plumber install a toilet inside his trading room. ... anyone who has car camped in the city has less drastic options Which I did as a student at the U. for awhile...

I've signed up with Al Brook's Price Action course

A lot of people start with his material and come up with a simplified version that matches there own circumstances and personality. I read all his books. I learned more from his videos. Does he still have a trading room? I sat in that for awhile. ...everything helped. You are on a valid...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

When we start a new thread, there is an option to place a poll at the top of it. I don't think you can insert an ET poll that shows how many choose whatever options... within a thread. Probably have to start a new thread and ask people from this one to go to it and participate. .... a lot of...

"the only reason to not be profitable every day, is not getting yourself out of the way..." To what degree would you say this is the/a holy grail of trading? I often think of it as that.
