    best options broker

when does it take $1,000 to be successful? Gambling is when you dont know which direction a stock is going to move or to what magnitude. So much for fundimentals... I do know how to make money, unforunately for me, I have to think small right now. I dont have the grand to invest.

    best options broker

I liked what I saw from optionshouse but they require $1,000 to open an account. I was looking for a broker that has no minimums to open. I think tradeking fits into this category but im not famaliar with them

    best options broker

does anyone have any input as is who might be the best options broker? I am using optionsxpess, and I like their tools but their commission seems high. I was wondering if there might be one who is better. The only requirement for me is "no account minimum". Thanks

    butterflies and condors

let me try to understand in a butterfly you will buy two options, and because you then have position in the stock, sell (write) two. Hence, you dont have to own the stock to sell it because you have already purcased 2 options. Is this correct? Thanks

    butterflies and condors

i think i understand. to be short you must own the stock and sell (write) those two parts of the butterfly and buy the other two. a butterfly consists of writing 2 contracts to sell and 2 long purchases. if a person does not own 100 shares of that stock, they cant write options, therefore...

    butterflies and condors

I think I understand. Covered=Long, Uncovered=short. Being short, you have no investment in the stock. Long, you own the stock and write puts and calls. If I am correct, you must be covered to use butterflies and condors and covered calls+puts. If this is the case, what options strategies...

    butterflies and condors

when using butterflies and condors, does one have to own the stock (long) or can one with no capital in the stock (short) use them also? Does this principle also apply to covered calls and puts? I am new to this. I don't want to buy any stock, just play the options off them. For someone...

    straddle vs. strangle

I'm green to the options world. I've been playing around with a virtual trader for a week now, just buying puts and calls. I am curious about the concept of strangles and straddles. Straddle: A position consisting of a long (short) call and a long (short) put, where both options have the...
