How to get a Bloomberg Subscription?

As far as I know, Bloomberg has a single price policy for all subscribers, whether retail or institutional. I'd guess that the price is the same everywhere but don't know whether there may be differences between NY, Tokyo, Jakarta, etc.

How to get a Bloomberg Subscription?

I also have TS6 and IB along with Bloomberg. You will have to contact a salesperson. You have the option of subscribing to their service either for use on your hardware or theirs. I use their hardware at no extra cost: PC with 2 vertical 15" flats. It's expensive: $1700/mo now.

    SPAN, margin, formulas,

I used to be deeply involved with SPAN at the CME clearinghouse a few years back. The basic premise of the calcs is actually pretty simple. Putting it all together gets more complicated. As an option trader you first must know that your requirement will change daily as the price of the...

    PC's vs Workstations

I'd like to build a serious multimonitor workstation for trading and system development with the appropriate backups to brokers, the internet, hard drives, etc. to avoid some of the nightmares I read about here at ET. It would be very helpful if the Workstation Guide was updated to include...

Anyone with degree in Financial Engineering or similar qualifications?

While I don’t have a degree in financial engineering I did take a fin. eng. course while at the MBA program at the U. of Chicago. I also took time series analysis (ARIMA, GARCH, etc.) and others. They are by their nature very mathematical and those methods can be employed to create trading...

    Keeping it Simple

RS7, I don't want to rain on your party but here are some questions for you regarding your approach to relative strength: 1. Relative strength is relative over some time frame. You imply that a sector/stock is strong/weak relative to the previous close. Why not relative to its open or a...

When someone asks "what you do for a living" what do you answer!

Not true. You don't need new flow. Here's a much simplified example. Bill Gates never took MSFT public. He own's 100% of the share. Earnings increase year after year. Balance sheet stockholders equity increase year after year. Stock price (value) increases year after year.

When someone asks "what you do for a living" what do you answer!

Here's an answer to the zero sum game question that I think any finance professor will agree with. Equity markets are not zero sum games. Equities are assets with the potential to increase the wealth of all stakeholders. A rising tide lifts all boats. Futures trading is a zero sum game...

    Margin requirements

The first day that you have this position on at the end of the day you're required to have the initial margin requirement in your account. If you don't you get a margin call for the difference between the initial requirement and your account's net liquidating value. Broker's and clearing firms...
