    25 Years & $100 Million Profits... A to your Q's, Today Only

Thanks for the generous offer gnome. It's a very personalized issue but are there any techniques that you use to emotionally detach yourself from your trading? "Not liking to lose" gets in my way and my goal for 2008 is to solve that. Having losing trades doesn't bother me as it's part of...

AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

I'm not sure what Anek thinks but I don't think it's off topic at all. Once all the AHG signals fire, having a signal that helps entry is invaluable. The 3br is one such entry signal IMHO. Not to be used until other signals show it's time to enter. Cheers

AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

This is mine. It can colour bars or put in diamonds/arrows, and selectable # of bars. I like the signals delivered by 3 bars of confirmation rather than 2 (so really a 4 bar reversal). This one has some interesting high/low rules set right now after some playing with the rules. It does...

AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

No need to make a .zip and import Put the .cs file into the directory Ninja Trader 6/bin/Custom/Indicator Go into Tools->Edit NinjaScript->Indicators and load the indicator, then hit the compile button at the top. If it compiles successfully, it's now usable.

    Knowing when to get out

Yes :) Actually it's not really a problem with taking big losses on any one trade. In general I'm pretty good at limiting them (with one exception today). It's more about entering silly trades at silly times with low probability hoping to "hit that one that will bring me back". It's a...

    Knowing when to get out

Good points and I understand what you are saying. It's definitely something I need to work on. My fear of being wrong is best explained like this: If I do the right thing with the information that I have and I have to stop out for even/loss when I realize it's not going my way, that's...

    Knowing when to get out

You are most likely FAR more knowledgable than I at trading, but from what I've seen and experienced so far over the years (and more notably lately with futures) it seems to share a few basic fundamentals with poker. At least it's a way for me to relate. I don't know if you play much poker but...

    Knowing when to get out

Thanks for all the replies, a few notes. - I know 2 weeks is nothing and I'm rank novice. I'm prepared for the long haul learning. - Account size is very large for the 1 contract im trading. Part of my non-futures portfolio was brought over. So I'm not fear trading in the slightest...

    Knowing when to get out

Sounds like good simple advice. I should just stick to if I lose what my daily target is, then stop. Any tips on how to realize early on based purely on price motion that the market is going to be choppy? Just watch it a bit and be careful? I know it was rollover day...that should have...

    Knowing when to get out

Hi there, lurked for a while, time to ask a question. New to futures trading. Done the stock thing for a while, not for a living (not doing futures for a living either..hah) Been going at futures for two weeks. YM, 1 car at a time, tight stop losses (10-15 pts). Up about $350...
