Starting a fund / raising capital

Quick question: does trading your own capital for 5 years, followed by a thorough audit by one of the big accounting firms (PWC, Ernst & Young, etc.) qualify as a track record for raising "hedge fund" capital? Thanks in advance for all the replies...

    Best Blogs?

I might have a slight bias (facetious tone) but after looking through many of the listed blogs, I feel that the chart analysis that I post is on par with many of the best bloggers. Many of the charts that I see are simply "charts" with no substantive analysis in terms of what the market...

    SSO Analysis Log

January 27, 2009 The charts are fairly simple to analyze. Very strong indications of higher support levels, higher highs and higher lows. Classic example of what happens when the markets have been oversold and earnings are coming in a healthier clip than what Wall Street analysts had...

    best blogs for trading ideas

Yes, you're correct. I like reading Don's blog for his trading insight - I usually wind up thinking of a new addition to my own personal trading and coaching process after a quick visit. I enjoy blogs that focus on a static set of financial instruments (i.e., XTrends and Don...

    best blogs for trading ideas

Agree that X is on a slight cold streak but in light of their overall track record, it's still a very insightful blog. Definitely one of the better trading blogs I follow. Don Miller has a good blog as well: http://donmillerjournal.blogspot.com/ Cheers!

    best blogs for trading ideas

The first and last blogs are definitely worth a bookmark - the second blog, however, is devoid of any real substantive content. I might have a bias but I like my own blog: www.listentoyourchart.com I've gotten some good feedback from readers so far. Cheers!

    Forget about S&P 1000

There seems to definitely be a lot more bearish movement in the markets left... I trade the SSO (gives me a great sense of correlation to the SP futures - for obvious reasons) On the 5-minute charts there is still plenty of resistance from Friday's opneing price levels...

    Indicators or Internals?

One set-up that I like to initiate a position (when I spot it and depending on which timeframe the set-up occurs on) is when my [customized] stochastic is at oversold levels and the TRIN indicates an extremely over-bearish level such as 2.0 (generally anything above 1.5 in my book indicates too...

    Session Highs/Lows data?

eSignal's stock scanner does provide high/lows "based" on your parameters established - just not in real-time - slight time delay. http://esignal.com/scanners/rallyscan.aspx You original post was not clear as to the timeframe you were looking for a new daily high.low, 1st hour, etc...

    2008 was ________ ?

One of the best daytrading years I've (and my traders have ever) had........the technical charts were spot-on - and even the short squeezes were relatively easy to identify 2009 will be even more chock-full-of-profits! Good Trading!

    Session Highs/Lows data?

You may want to try eSignal for this data. They have intra-day market scanners....... It costs a little more ($50'ish / monthly I believe) but if identifying is a major component of your trading strategy then it's definitely worth the extra few bucks a month....... Good Trading!
