The TICK is back too. (I think). At least it was. Now (7pm Eastern), TWS cannot connect to the IB server for log in. Fails with "Connection Error". Fortunately I am flat.
Looks like the login servers are down. I cannot log in to Account Management via the IB Website too. New kind of excitement...
The current issue for me is that Backfill of NYSE-TICK used to work. If you started TWS late, you would still be able to chart the TICK (within TWS Charting.) Now you get data only from the time of connection. Is your experience different? Are you able to backfill TICK data? I checked today and...
The TICK data has been trashy for a while, but now backfill gets data all 0's just like TRIN gets all 1's. Strangely enough data comes through on backfills for dates on or before Nov 10th. As of Nov 13th, they decided it is easier to trade off of horizontal lines. May be they ran out of storage...
Looks like IB TWS TICK and A-D data are kaputt today. TICK is frozen @-72 (as of 1:30pm EST). No problem with other sources. No alert bulletins from IB on this.
Still broken, just not as lopsided as before. So may be they filtered some issues out. Ideally the data provider should offer NYSE common only for both Tick and A-D issues and volume. Not holding my breath for such a breadth revolution.
Roger that. No solution though. Per IB (a) Data is correct (b) They have no control over the provider who is feeding this unusable data. If you don't acknowledge a problem exists, there is no need to provide a fix. I am using other sources and working on moving to another platform/broker.
If you mean the charts package that comes with TWS, this is what I used to use. Right click on chart, select "Add Fib line". Draw the line from the start point to end point. You get fib retracements between those two points and 3 extensions 161, 261 and 423. I don't think there is any way to...
In my accounts, interest accruals started in December 2016. They stopped paying any interest when fed funds rate went the lowest (cannot remember when). Only accounts with 100K or more are getting interest (accrues daily and posted monthly). I have accounts with 30K and 25K - I don't see any...
There will be minor differences among providers. I don't know about TOS, but I have compared it with eSignal and Barchart. TWS is not even remotely resembling the other sources. The situation is worse when the breadth is lop sided. If you can post a comparative chart (TOS & TWS), it will be...
They do have another symbol for charting the $TICK in conventional manner - $TICX
https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/$TICX/interactive-chart
It is also available via their onDemand API (requires data subscription)
I was just reporting what IB support said. I know most data providers calculate their own index, as NYSE stopped broadcasting $TICK long ago. I believe it was revived by S&P Comstock and then offered by other data vendors based on their own algos. I will probably go back to NeoTicker/eSignal...
I raised a trouble ticket about this broken $TICK data. They claim that this is exchange provided data and they have no control over it. NYSE is providing them with $TICK that stays negative all day long while breadth is like 2000 advancers all day long??? .... I depend on this for scalps and...
etc.
Thanks. I mine data from the CBOT website on a daily basis and I do have the contract specs. I think I did not ask my question right. I want to know what the convention is for the pit to move to the front month as the contract to trade. e.g. for YM - Dow mini (as for other equity...
Thanks. I had already researched both the websites. I could not find any information on this. e.g. on what day did May 08 corn become the front month? If you have specific page reference, that will be helpful.
I don't know about others but I find the new CME Group website very hard to use...
