Not sure where Tradestation is at these days but Trading Blox or Amibroker may allow you more portfolio control for such a system. I haven't use Trading Blox but use Amibroker for EOD stuff.

If I was just going to trade manually I would use Ninjatrader by itself with zenfire live feed with Mirus in a heartbeat.

Sideshow, Yeah I use the SMTP interface (email) to send orders from Tradestation to Ninjatrader. So OEC, would be very similar and probably not free me from Tradestation.

Well, after all our complaining, Tradestation decided to extend to May 31st the retirement of 8.3. Hopefully they will get 8.6 super stable by then. The truth is that my setup is still very tied to using Tradestation, especially their data. All of my stuff is coded in their Easy Language...

Just my two cents, I prefer to never average down / martingale / add risk when i am losing. I prefer the fixed fractional method of compounding money after each trade is complete. That does not mean I necessarily average up, but i think averaging up is sort of better than averaging down...
