Observation: Today's low of day is 4431. The high of the overnight market was 4448.75. Should price reach a high of 4466.75, then 4448.75 will be the mean of the low and high of the day. The present high of day is 4464.75, with 30 minutes of trading left. Even if price does not reach 4466.75, it...

db, what is the name of the thread you are referring to? Is it the same thread you referenced in regard to your method of projecting targets? Thanks much. Ged

forty, I would appreciate it if you would amplify on the above statement, why you make this differentiation between the morning and afternoon sessions. Also, if in the afternoon you "are more likely to let price retrace on [your] position..." what might this type of retrace really look like?

    Observations (an example)

I observe that the mean between today's high, 4461, and the present low of day, 4429.25, is 4445, and that 4445 is also the mean of the overnight market. Ged

Right, I wasn't looking at the channel high, or anything else, but just making the observation of what seems to me an interesting fact. We may yet go above 4461, somewhat nullifying my observation, but I tend to believe in relationships more than coincidences. Ged

    Observations (an example)

I observe that the mean between today's low, 4438, and the present high of day, 4461, is 4449.50, and that 4449.50 is also the high of the overnight market. Ged

I like the 'scratch' terminology, just not used to using it. I could have managed my trades better, so I learned some things. A day is never a total loss if you learn something helpful. Ged

Thank you forty, Eddiemorra, theapprentice, LLIHeroic, and db. Appreciate the responses very much. - I believed, after the fact, that this was not a very good day to implement all aspects of the method. Good to know I wasn't kidding myself. I finished down $30/contract plus commissions...

    Observations (an example)

Forty, it seems to me (albeit I am inexperienced in various aspects of the method you trade) that price action for the first 2.5 hours of today (RTH) has not been optimum. I'd be interested in the grade you would give to the day, so far, on a scale of 0 to 10 - 5 being average? My interest stems...

Aha...It seems to me that a level of resistance, with additional levels of resistance shortly above it, would normally not be a poor spot to consider taking a range reversal.

emini, my thought is that 88 is just 2 points above 86, and 91 is just 3 points above that. So, to take a breakout to the top side it seems it would be prudent to allow it to clear those levels before making entry.

Thank you db. I've read so much of your work, but I couldn't recall just now if you had mentioned using P&F charts. Ged

db, do you use a P&F chart to calculate your target(s)? Ged
