Possibly their whole Asia gateway crashed and the system didn't reduce the positions automatically around 4pmEST to meet the day to night margin transition, as the system would normally do.
Please forgive me not to mention my broker's name because in general they offer me good services. It's just this freaky incidence caused me devastating loss and I hope they would take some responsibility and give me proper compensation.

The Reverse Position button on BookTrader can only reverse one-side of position (either long or short by configuration). This is so dumb. A good design should be able to reverse either side of position automatically. I am just surprised that TWS has been on the market for so long and still...
