Absolute noob - fish in a barrel..

Thanks for your reply - have to admit as a noob it seems that any kind analysis is slow/distracting compared to instinctive responses - still gravitating back to the DOM/T&S and throwing quick trades close to the spread - presently able to glance out of the corner of my eye at BOOKMAP and see...

Absolute noob - fish in a barrel..

Thanks for the kind replies - been busy last couple days - gutted a couple old desktop PC's that were on the pile of rotting computers in the barn - swapped a couple power supplies - new motherboard/cpu - my son built a Linux server - I have a "new" 10 year old desktop that will drive 3 displays...

Absolute noob - fish in a barrel..

Thanks easymon1 - since I am just a tad on the dumb side I am always a bit late "getting my nose in trough" - guess I had to learn about losing some trades before I could get focused on building a winning strategy. Realized very early on that a predictive approach to trading was not for me...

Absolute noob - a couple of "big dogs"..

Hello again Ironchef! The market closed a few minutes ago - another day of experimentation - this attempt to scale up into heavier stocks and larger positions with AMD did not achieve a positive result today - not a catastrophic outcome - need further evaluation of choice of security/methology...

Absolute noob - a couple of "big dogs"..

Getting into the 5th week of my trading "career" (hobby) - have been working on my chops - posted in earlier threads about accidentally finding a trading style - not knowing what it was I called it "dancing with the devil" - have since been told it is something of a tape reader scalping...

    A message in a bottle..found my heading.

Had a 35' double-ender sailboat sitting in a cradle in Ventura California for years in the '90's while working abroad - had a buyer and let her go - kept working abroad - met wife - had a family - "swallowed the anchor" as they say. Have great memories - racing catamarans at national level in...

    A message in a bottle..found my heading.

A little off topic but years ago I had a sailing buddy named Phil - now departed - was a WWII merchant marine vet - he single-handed a beautiful Tahiti Ketch he built from scratch using rented molds - tied a bowline faster than you could blink - he was quite a guy. Once upon a time I dreamed of...

Absolute noob - seems I am scalping? - dancing with the devil

Thank you - your reply means so much to me! Had to run to the next room and show wife/kids - they have given me some strange looks lately because of my incessant rambling about "dancing with the market" - said to them "see...I am not nuts!"

    A message in a bottle..found my heading.

I came to the ET Trading forum a few days ago - grasping for validation of my wacky trading style (tape reading?) - in spite of being a pathetic "noob", I received very kind and helpful replies to my "dancing with the devil" post. Please don't take this as a snub but I will be sailing "off the...

Absolute noob - seems I am scalping? - dancing with the devil

Thanks again to all the members who have posted these very kind replies. This thread is stale, but I would like to wrap it up with this epilogue. My first journey into the world of trading has taken me down a path that has shattered my beliefs - in a good way. Today I played very close to the...
