The January 2001 Nasdaq 14% one day gain after a special 1/2 rate reduction is tough to beat when it comes to "taking the cake". Of course the Nasdaq continued its free fall after.

"Evidence" from us "trolls" to lambasting "studies" is not needed. The market will provided the "evidence" that "The Day Of Week effect" is in fact a myth and it has done that since this thread was started almost 1 month ago.

The sole purpose of starting this thread was to get people interested in TradersStudio. The Day Of Week effect is - and was always - a myth.

You don't bother with stops, you BUY at 9:30am, SELL at 4pm every Wednesday. Very simple. PS....I only skimmed through your long winded post, the Day of Week strategy is very basic and doesn't need a long post as yours.

The best results would be to paper trade for one year. You say Wednesdays are mostly up days. Well every Wednesday why don't you buy the S&P 500 when the market opens and sell at the end of the day. Post the trades live on ET and we then can crunch the numbers in September 2008. You could...

Not enough info. Example below shows 3 "up" Wednesdays to 1 "down" Wednesday. S&P 500 +10 S&P 500 +15 S&P 500 + 05 S&P 500 - 30 NOT GOOD even though up days out numbered down days 3 to 1.

I am not trading the "Day Of Week" strategy. I am 1 vote of 31 for No it's a myth.

Another losing day for this "Day Of Week" strategy, that's 2 losing days out of 2 since this post was started. Maybe better luck this Friday and Monday. How about posting paper trades every Friday and Monday for 52 weeks then we can see how it works over a 1 year period?

But what about "black swans"? When the market moves up on Friday with a move enough to wipe out any previous gains using this strategy. Same thing when the market makes a big move down on Monday. Any data on those events? ---------------------------- ForexGuru

RIMM did split 3 for 1, perhaps I'm using the wrong "investment talk" or whatever. I get 3 shares for each share I had last week but since they are now worth only 1/3 my portfolio is worth about the same. I am still not clear on everything about this "stock split" stuff but I'm getting there...
