Is a full T1 fast enough for direct access trading?

Like someone mentionned, depends what platform and HOW many ladders you have up and running. the more ladders/charts you got up, the more bandwidth you need. What you should do, with your current setup is monitor how much bandwidth goes in from market open to market close. Usually routers...

    Quad 2.4 or Duo 3.0?

LOVED this post! You are a 110% correct about this. As a geek... i hate to see wasted power :( But of course, if people can afford it, why not. But most of the time, people are wasting money. But some are trying to go too deep in the reasoning about getting a super computer for trading...

    usb unreconized

This happens to any USB devices you throw in your machine? maybe only that device you try is busted. Have you tried different USB ports? same? maybe that port you keep trying it busted. Don't know about your PC, but have you checked your manufacturer's website, maybe there is a fix/patch...

    DDR 3 Memory Speed

You are wrong about this. video/image processing is all done in memory. If you apply modifications, the computer has to open the file [ the whole thing ], uncompressing it, bigger your image/movie is, more ram/HD space it will require to process the work. For example, if you have a 5 mb...

    DDR 3 Memory Speed

Wow... that is a weird comparaison you did there. Sempron = worst pos processor [ celeron type ] and you compare it to a Core2duo... a ' 98 Honda Civic versus a 2009 Ferrari. who gets to finish first you think? ;p

If You're Having Virus/Malware Problems, ESET NOD32 Is $10 Measly Bucks @ Newegg

NOD32 with Spybot-S&D is the best combo to keep your machine in order. Chances for viruses are slims nowadays but spywares... god that's so annoying. been reading many comments ... and i think the main problem is ppl don't know the difference between viruses and spywares.

    wi fi router question

and that is in theory. and if you are sitting on the wifi router. then you may get ~80-90% signal strenght. then you can have interference. walls in the way and other interesting thing that can weaken your signal. But if the guy has to go wifi, i would replace the small antennas. then...

6 monitors, different video cards, having PROBLEMS!

Most likely a driver conflict. But could be a power related problem. meaning , do you have a powerfull enough PowerSupply to feed everything in your machine? or have you tried putting that 9500 card in a different PCI slot ? could be an irq conflict. good luck
