Help with Excel array in Index

Thanks tiddlywinks. I am looking at that. The array is actually contiguous - it is a section of one column, but which section of the column that is the array keeps moving down. I would just like to have the first cell and the last cell of the column/array be identified by the contents of two...

Help with Excel array in Index

Thanks Tom. What I want to do seems like it should be simple - use the contents of one cell to identify the first cell of the array, and the contents of the 2nd cell to identify the last cell in the array. I've tried Cell, Cellcontents, Address, Concantenate, etc., but I haven't been able to...

Help with Excel array in Index

Is it possible to create an array using the value in a cell as the first cell of the array and the value in another cell as the last cell of the array? For example, if I have a formula in D1 (or some other cell) that gives a result of $B$3, and a formula in D2 (or some other cell) that give a...

    CQG Portara

Thanks for the offer Mark. If I could just get back 10 years or so I would be okay. Doesn't look like esignal has more that about 120 days of intraday.

    CQG Portara

I really appreciate the suggestion, but it looks like esignal's intraday data only goes back 120 days. There would also be the problem of making a continuous future out of the various contract, but I could deal with that if they had the data...

    CQG Portara

I would think that there would be plenty of companies with good index futures historical data, but I have been having real difficulty finding them. The quote I got from CQG Data Factory was over $8,000. I'm glad to hear that it is good data, but I don't know if I can get myself to pay that...

    CQG Portara

Thanks for the input Mark. Did you find the quality of the historical data to be good other than being "on close"? Their videos make it sound like you can choose Open or Close, but I could probably adapt if needed. I am really only in need of accurate historical data for backtesting.

    CQG Portara

Thanks Kevin. I would like to send you a PM. I hate to show my ignorance, but do I do that by starting a "private thread"?

    CQG Portara

Anyone know anything about CQG's Portara? I have been looking for a source of 1-min. historical data for index futures, and this looks interesting. I called CQG for some info. I spoke with a very polite young man, but he sent me info on Data Factory instead of Portara… If anyone has any...

    Is a Graphics Card Necessary?

Maybe I'll have to take another look at laptops. I haven't purchased a personal computer since I built my current one about 5 years ago. At that point, I got a lot more for my money building a small desktop than buying a full-featured laptop. Times change though...
