I thought that the article stated a single working parent. However, if there are two, then the $9600 for day care gets eliminated since one parent would be at home with the children.

The author has a point but I would rather see more accurate numbers. A family making 60K does not pay 13k in taxes. More like 5k after mortgage interest deductions, child tax credit, etc. And Medicaid/Chip for two people is not worth anywhere near 16k.

Income from an LLC is also subject to self employment tax (about 15%) on top of income tax. In my opinion S-Corp is still the way to go. Pay yourself a small base salary and take the rest as shareholder distributions and pay regular tax rate depending upon your bracket.
