    Taking Emotions Out of Trading.

"I guess the answer is have an automated trading setup." Maybe not. You say "I have had many profitable days based on using hardly any emotion following a systematic procedure" and then you say "when I try to second guess the market, it goes against me." Why not find out why/when/what...

    Simple Profitable Method

You can get rid of the histogram easily enough (and the line if you want). F6, go to the macd study, go to the subgraphs and change the last two draw styles to ignore. Then you'll just have the macd and its ma/signal line.

    Simple Profitable Method

The "authorities" will delete the odd really offensive post but almost only ever delete threads that are SPAM. It seems highly unlikely that anyone has even been banned here. Possibly someone got told to behave a little better and has decided to take their toys home. This thread seems safe.

    IB; Biggest Possible Improvement?

Does collecting data on about 70 stocks and futures mean that I might have more than 1/5 second between ticks? Does that mean I would miss more data? I'd prefer not to miss data IB.

    Boredom in Trading

It seems to me that I have to learn to just tolerate the boring periods - or maybe think of something to entertain me that doesnt prevent me being an effective trader.

Try you're Steve. dbPhoenix would never have done that. He would have got it right - a real guru.

Steve46 and Hypostomus Debate Trading Strategy

LMAO ... u rise to the bait like the minnow you truly are. Nothing proven yet - I can read the old posts (in fact I met dbphoenix on the board he went to after being the et guru became old; he was more polite there and a lot more so than you) :p

Steve46 and Hypostomus Debate Trading Strategy

LMAO ... baiting steve is so easy (almost like old dbphoenix in the old days but even more arrogant and lacking the knowledge). Have fun guys. :)

I'd like to ask for your feedback please.

OK. My opinion only. What Steve46 says is correct in the good old dbphoenix/mark douglas style. You do have to define exactly what you will and won't do and then build the discipline to do it. You might want to consider the attached thoughts derived from Mark Douglas's work especially the...

I'd like to ask for your feedback please.

Good comments so far and good to see that you have been able to survive. A 5000 account is ok for daytrading euro. On 5m bars I would risk 5-7 ticks (about 85 bucks per contract) so you can take a lot of trades before you blow out. I think 5m bars are something of a sweet spot for day...

Why do I do what I know I shouldn't be

Yes, Marks suggestion is an excellent one. You might even find that involving a non-trader such as your partner or a friend (explain each trade to them) could do it. Can you let us know what you try and how it works? The thread could be a great aid to other struggling traders. Echo

Why do I do what I know I shouldn't be

So Aspenboy, It seems there are a few base theories of whats going wrong in your trading. Is the problem that you don't truly have faith in your plan (the issue above) or do you have faith in your plan but inject bad behaviors (habits) in amongst the planful trades? I hesitate to suggest...
