mschey,i dont know about proof or whatever you have in mind but you should consider the fact that in Japan with their super efficient and higher qualithy healthcare the costs are about half per capita compared with the healthcare cost here in the states.how comes? isnt a "free market" healthcare...

:) in my opinion the media is about a year to 18 months behind the curve.:) i still have some editions of BW,Fortune,Forbes and others from the period before the Nasdaq crashed from 5xxx with "funny stuff" about the general economy,stock market etc...

you just have to take a look at the car show this week and see what the Germans and Japanese will be offering in the near future...on the other side GM'S pathetic offerings.my guess is that in 2-3 years GM will have to shut down.

i tend to agree with you. i dont want to even imagine what will happen to the US economy if the chinese decide to reform/put in order their bank system and create a honest and open stock market.

this year's debt development in the US : - private debt grew by 11,6% - income up by 2,8% - private savings rate -1,5 - corporate debt up by 7,4% - fed debt up by 5,1% - state&county debt up by 12,6% ------- private net worth went up by 11%:) (!!!) --- the government portion of the GDP...

i think its about time the Feds stop releasing any cpi/inflation related data. should be just usibg the principle :take it as it comes:cool:
