Introvert or Extrovert,...which is more likely to be successful at trading? An extrovert will build a network of successful and similarly focused others, ....leverage their experience and insights to develop better strategies and trading methods. An introvert will have undisturbed time to...

What is your focus in trading? ....and what do you prefer as vehicles? Any interest in trading open-ended (Rydex or Profunds) index funds with a very next TD focus?

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

Simply, traders will likely move to trading US Govt Bonds, which will be exempt from any proposed FTT.

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

Agree. As a result of a FTT, the mkt will see a profound change (for the worse). Need to monitor articles and media going forward for next mention of FTT...from either Biden or Harris. Since her nomination, there has been no focus on a FTT. Wall Street is in denial as to the reality of that...

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

Agree zdreg, Wall St is too fat a target for Dems to pass up. A FTT will be key way to fund Medicare for All.

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

Under every proposed FTT to date, US Govt Bonds would be exempt from the tax. Thereby enabling the Gov't to sell bonds, and creating an incentive for individuals to buy them. It seems unlikely that trading would shift to Govt Bonds from stocks simply to avoid a FTT. Does anyone know of a...

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

A FTT will incentivize (essentially force) the short term trader to become an investor...longer term holding periods. Also will likely widen spreads (btwn bid and ask), reduce volume, and spell the demise of commission free trading. The landscape will be very different.

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

A FTT will be widely popular. Even moderate Michael Bloomberg supported a FTT. With increasing focus on inequality, a FTT is an obvious place to start. It will happen, only a matter of time.

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

That is very true, a full 60 votes would not be needed. And both Biden and Harris have strongly advocated for a stiff FTT. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/kamala-harris-on-student-loan-forgiveness-medicare-universal-basic-income-credit-scores-and-a-tax-on-trading-stocks-2020-08-12...

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

    Q. WHEN will a FTT be on WS's radar? Or...when will the mkt start to discount a FTT? HFT stocks such as VIRT and CME do not reflect concern...yet.

Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

Most "edges" that exist, btwn asset classes, indexes, or in sectors, only exist for a short period of time,... rarely for longer than very next trading day. The more leftist Dems (Sanders, Warren, AOC) want to punish ST trading....seeing it as pulling money from thin air, at the expense of long...
