i'm getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter w/ this method of trading. thats why i've been looking into TA methods instead. things seems to make more sense. sure the tape will be around forever, but will it be as effective in the years to come?

i agree. when the market goes fully electronic where is tape reading going to be? Certainly taking a back seat to fundamentals and TA. I'm trying to be in this for the long run

I work for a group that is trying to teach me to read the tape, scout buyers/ sellers and use a scalping system to make trades. I am finding that I like the TA part of trading much more. Any advice on which is better? What to do?

does anyone know how to properly place a trailing stop in a trending market? sometimes i move my stop up too early and i can't catch the move

does anyone know of any good settings for the ADX/DM indicator for intraday trading? i previously have been using the standard (14,14) but would like to optimize it

i am daytrading equities, and find stops to be very useful in managing my risk. does anyone have any tips on where to place them when the security is trending? my trading strategy/system allows me to catch some of the move, but sometimes i get stopped out and miss more than i should.

does anyone use omnitrader software? if so, do you like it as opposed to other platforms such as tradestation?

i've started to apply ADX w/ MACD and i've seen some nice results overall

don't know if my response got through or not, but i'll post it again. prof, would you say you get a good success rate using that strategy? i'm relatively new to the game and i just discovered these indicators and would like to explore them more in a similar fashion as you use them.
