    My option trades

I'm beginning to think you've already had that rum, or are running on lack of sleep, because you aren't seeming to hear what I''m saying. I am not buying options, I am selling them. I am not buying straddles, I am selling strangles. I think I'm going to bow out of this conversation...

    My option trades

You're getting it all exactly right! Let me explain about the "buy the other side." If the market is dropping (or even if it is remaining close to the same but enough time goes by to lower premiums) then I want to turn one or both sides into a credit spread. For example: the market begins...

    My option trades

Seems like you aren't understanding that you can sell options on a "cash account" (whatever that is). When you open an account with Think or Swim, and fund it, you can trade strangles if your account size is big enough to handle the margin requirements. Simply look at "option buying power" and...

    My option trades

Think or Swim makes it easy to see how much margin you have with your cash account, simply by looking at "Monitor" and "Option Buying Power." It's truly that easy.

    My option trades

Glad to help. Selling strangles is great in low volatility periods, but in trends you'll need to know how to adjust and reduce risk. All my adjustments also include reducing risk, which is critical when doing strangles.

    My option trades

Go to Think or Swim, click on "Analyze" and "Add Simulated Trade", type in IWM or QQQ, choose the weekly option "Mar4 12" with 3 days to go. Right click on the 65 puts, choose "Sell" "Strangle". Then click on "Risk Profile", adjust your call and put that you are selling to give you what you are...

Jeff, do you have a thread sharing your SPY mechanical system? If not, is it something you can share? I'd love to see it if able. If not I understand. Thank you.

Methodology of the DITM Vertical Bull Call Spread

Thanks Adam. Yes, I had read the entire thread, and wondered why it came to a screeching halt 5 years ago. I appreciate your strategy below. I do something similar with selling strangles, adding the purchased option when the market moves away from a particular strike. Much better than an...

Methodology of the DITM Vertical Bull Call Spread

Wow, I see the last post on this thread is just about 5 years old! Whatever happened to some of the participants in this thread? Yucca still doing DITM spreads? If so, at 50% per year, he is no doubt wealthy beyond belief. Anybody else still here from this thread who can share what they have...

Thank you, but I have a little difficulty understanding your words; possibly English is not your first language. I appreciate your help, but was hoping others would contribute. Thank you again.

    Going Live Option Trading Questions

I have read each person's response here, and I do appreciate all the thoughts you have shared. How about the following for a "road map"/plan? I have no idea if this is sound, or sounds stupid, which is why I'm asking: Take my total account size (say 25K) and divide it up into 8 equal...

Thank you. What one strategy would you recommend? I've traded all forms of credit spreads, iron condors, short strangles, etc.
