    Does everyone have a degree?

If you do go to school, I highly recommend getting a degree in a field that also enables you to get a certification that others cannot obtain unless they follow the same path. I'm thinking doctor, lawyer, teacher, nurse, cpa, dentist, etc., etc.... Typically this will provide more...

IB TWS - pre-existing ES buy stop not executed in a rising market... any insights?

My brother had a similar issue awhile back when trading topix futures--stops simply weren't being executed. He called the help desk and during the phone conversation placed a stop order which was traded through (while the IB rep. watched it in real time). Anyway, turned out there was a...

    Are trades indepenent?

I'm not smart enough to answer your question, but what I do know is that each prospective trade needs to be evaluated on its own merits, independent of any previous (winning or losing) trade you may (or may not have) taken. Doug

    Baruch's Forex System Journal

Scientist-- Do you typically wait for the market to begin moving your direction before entering the trade or do you anticipate a reversal and exit if it continues moving against you? (or adding if you think you entered a bit early..) Thanks, Doug

Best timeframes for daytrading the ES.

Use whatever works, but given how volatility has contracted I've moved away from using the 5 minute or lower to the higher time frames (10/15/30/60) for taking trading signals. Doug

    EGO CHALLENGE (26 Sept 2003)

This was my initial impression as well. Others have already asked in a general sense his decision-making process---to be a little more specific I'd be interested to hear his theories on scaling in/out of positions. Doug

    DMI/ADX consistently works

I'm guessing from your post that you use the Nasdaq futures as a leading/confirming indicator. If you don't mind, could you provide some detail as to what exactly you like to see? TIA, Doug

    Ping times for Dialup/Broadband users

Keep in mind that yahoo.com has servers in two locations: on the west coast and the east coast. That's why you'll see a very fast ping for those living in CA. Being in Chicagoland, my ping is 60ms or so to the west coast, 35ms to the east. I'm on Comcast for now. Doug

What would you do if 25 yrs old?

    1) getting a solid education -- bachelor's, master's, and J.D. in my case. In this regard I highly recommend choosing a field where you must be certified to get the job (i.e., nurse, doctor, lawyer, accountant, teacher, etc., etc.). In other words, forget the marketing degree (or make it a...
