How do you pick which stock or option to invest in.
I know that is the million dollar question but I had to ask anyway because I find this all frustrating. I have read a few books but they are difficult to grasp. I think I need a class or something where I can have someone walk me through...

I am new to options and on Friday I bought a $5 Mar 07 call and since then the call is down 25% so it is making me nervous...

I have read a few books and I am trying to grasp just the most basic options trading for now to learn slowly. All I read on this board mostly is advanced strategies so I get a bit lost.
How do you feel about trading just plain long call options?
Can you point my research in the directions...
If you don't mind sharing what do you use now to research and learn about what stock makes a good option investment?
Also do you find calls or puts more profitable for the most part?
