Thanks for the help, that clears it up. Appreciate everything you did. Do you ever notice the PM changes if they occur though, I guess only concern is then whether or not requirements could change from 30% to lets say 40% overnight. That would be a nightmare.

DFS PRB
UBP PRF
CBL PRE
RF PRA
RSO PRB
MITT PRB
AMTG PRA
ELC PRC
NLY PRD
HTS PRA
Really appreciate the help. Thanks.
No i dont want to use options and the only reason I need leverage is for dividend stocks/preferreds. If I was able to maintain 3:1 at the least without IB increasing it, I would be fine with that.
Do you know where it shows me what the minimum requirement would be? I made my portfolio in the demo but it didnt give me a percentage in the account window.
Yea Im going to try out the demo and see what they say. Like I said, 3:1 is enough for me. If I am mostly invested with leverage, I am just worried IB would change the requirements to 2:1 or something of that nature. So it makes it difficult to hold dividend stocks on leverage if requirements...
Yea but if im getting PM, I need greater leverage than Reg T, I wouldn't mind if I can get 3:1, but I want to have that and just look away. I don't want to worry about IB changing requirements to 2:1 when I have 3:1 leverage on a dividend portfolio.
You mean PM has 15% minimum? And yea, i understand it changes based on risk, but I am hoping to diversify alot with dividend stocks and preferreds, but its annoying that I would have to keep checking it everyday to see what the margin updates are. I am hoping to have my portfolio always...
I had a couple questions about PM for IB. I currently have Reg T, but plan to switch over to PM. Reg T follows the general guidelines with 50% on margin, but I want to increase my leverage. I heard with PM I can leverage to 5x. I currently have a portfolio of 30+ preferred stocks and would like...
