With soooo many trading software firms around now, what are some of the criteria that you guys use to narrow your choices? Sometimes it appears that they all do pretty much the same thing, so what makes you choose one over the other? Just curious as to how others make their choices.

Well, most traders will probably never know what a "true" edge is because the trader who feels he/she has it will never be dumb enough to share it with the world. Until it doesn't work anymore of course, then it will be sold as a book.:D

Cool, Thats all I need is something basic with real "real -time" charting and if IB offers this within the TWS, thats all I need. Dont need a whole lot of bells and whistles, cuz I trade mainly watching order flow and pattern recognition, simple 2 and 5 min chart is fine. Thanks

Hi, Im opening an account with IB soon to trade ECBOT 30 yrs, I have read a lot of posts here and it seems traders use another charting service for their charts. Are IB's built in charts any good? I use mainly 2 and 5 minute candles. Thanks
