Beware of the bull traps!, CCL as an example

Does anyone want to share opinions of what stocks they expect to fall further in the next 3 months? I made some money buying puts on CCL and then selling them but at this point I don't have confidence it will fall further.

Yes. I agree. I like doing this when the VIX is high. It requires a belief that the VIX will remain high for a while.

Beware of the bull traps!, CCL as an example

What do people think of buying puts in this environment? Aren't wild swings upward not a return of a bull market but more of an indicator of a bear market? After a particularly strong move upward for a day or two, I have been buying ATM puts 60-90 days out to reduce the effects of time decay...

    Option Premiums Books

I don't understand your post. I think credit call spreads are good right now. Covered calls are good and naked calls as well (if you can stand the risk).

    Option Premiums Books

Selling naked calls seems very risky but I like selling puts, just not in this market. I am curious about your strategy of selling naked calls. When have you done that? Also, do you ever buy options?

    Option Premiums Books

I understand what you are saying but disagree. Like I said, spreads are not for everyone. No one knows where the market will go on any given day or any relative short period and five or ten contracts on a credit put spread on the SPY, for example, is far less risky than selling the same number...

    Option Premiums Books

I respect what you have to say but don't understand why you do not like spreads. They are a way to reduce risk, as you know, by capping your loss. I like credit spreads (both puts and calls) on the SPY depending on how the market is doing. I like them just a few days out and aim for a small...

Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

I am an options trader with moderate experience, far less than many on here. I have both bought and sold options and, of course, have experienced both wins and losses with these strategies. I have not backtested anything but I have to say that I believe that selling premium is the better way to...

When to get out of a failing option trade?

Maybe I did not make myself clear. I sell put options usually using only a portion of the account. Good money management is important. I prefer to sell options because of the premium collected and time decay is in your favor. If it goes against me as I stated, I make a decision to either roll it...

When to get out of a failing option trade?

That's why I prefer to sell options. You collect a premium and get the benefit of time decay. If it goes against me, I can either roll it or accept assignment, sell a covered call and a new put, thereby creating a strangle. I agree with what others say about having a trading plan.

    Fundamental and technical analysis

I am interested in both. Can anyone recommended a good website, course, newsletter that uses both for swing trading? Thanks for any advice.

    G6 Trading

I believe it is run by two guys named Yaniv and Ran. Has anyone used their service or another one that they would recommend to a novice investor? I am interested in trading stocks and options.

    G6 Trading

I am a not so experienced investor and saw that G6 Trading had some good reviews. I am looking for education and help with developing a good trading system. Has anyone had any recent success with them or any opinions about their service? Thanks.
