Does it matter if coinbase holds the crypto? Most people buying on coinbase are buying it as an asset and prefer coinbase keep custody. Not much different than FOREX. No one is expecting their broker to send them a bunch of foreign currency

Googling "binance fake volume" does not inspire confidence. Would also expect volume to grow significantly with cme micro contracts.
