No. what is it? Do you have a chart to explain? Does your tick chart tell you which ECN was buying all day and refreshing BID ? Does it also tell you that there was a huge sell order on a price which got refilled?. That's what a tape tell you.

Disagree with REDP1800. Chart delays information and never paint a full picture. For example what happened inside a 5 min candle can never be explained by the chart. While watching tape one can understand what size of order was executed and at which side.Who is buying and how much can not be...

I Trade on Lightspeed and provides ARCA and NSDQ from 4 am(which are the only ECN trades during these times) and EDGX adds to the list after 7am(again only these ECNs trade till this time). All ECNs except NYSE start trading after 8am. NYSE opens at 9.30.

All of them. if you are a serious day trader. Total view will show you all nasdq books (level 1 and 2) Nyse Arca books will show you ARCA level 2 on all ARCA and NYSE listed stocks. NYSE open book will show you NYSE level 2 quotes. I think 1st one is the bundled product of two (Total+Nyse open).

Thanks Adam291, trading equities and futures are two different things. Once you trade equities (specially U.S. equities market) trading any thing else is a very different. Those who have traded will know. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Takion charts are of no use.I use amibroker for charting. Wanted to check stockcharts.com and while subscribing it showed me a message if some one recommended me (they would receive one month free). So i thought why not ask some one if they need.
