The second book, Markets in Profile is the superior book according to Dalton. It went right over my head the first time I read it because I was still in the mechanical stage of trading. I thought Markets in Profile was a waste of time, and it was because my mind could not see that far yet. It...
Lets face it. Day trading is the hardest profession in the world. Most are just not willing to go through the steps necessary to learn the craft, far more become successful at it. MP is alive and well ever though its inventor (Steidlmayer) says it has now become irrelevant. He has moved on...
hanzahar,
MP can be used to scalp. The Intra Day volume value area highs, volume value area lows and volume point of control can be key turning points. But you have to learn how to read order flow to time your entry.
The low volume areas of the previous days also provide great S/R but...

Google âalex benjamin market profileâ
I know Alex gave two webinars for the Chaigo Board of Trade a few years back. You will have to search the web for those.
Like I said, I donât follow his site but I do know that he has...
Alex Benjamin has a facsimile of the old LDB. I've seen it in webinars but have never used it. Thatâs just not my thing.
Look for TD_LDB

Max,
Thanks for your input. I agree with you in principle, and I do use the initial balance in my trading, but I had a difficult time formulating a trading plan with some of the ideas you mentioned. I use market profile for support and resistance levels (including intra day value areas)...
Max,
So you can tell if a day is going to be range bound or trending by looking a single prints? How do you do it?
I'm not talking after the fact - I mean in real time.
There are plenty of range bound days with single prints.
There are also days that could be considered trend days...
I see buying and selling tails as the larger time frame at work. IMO that time frame stuff is outdated. Who cares what time frame people are operating on.

I put the explanation in the attached chart
It there any way to post more than one chart at a time?
I don't have any time to explain the breakdown from yesterday. Maybe later if anyone out there asks.
This is a Point and Figure chart set to a 5-tick swing. So whenever the market reverses by 5 ticks, a new bar is formed. It does a great job of eliminating market noise.
The bottom portion of the chart is a cumulative total of the bid minus ask volume â the delta. It is rest to zero at...
email,
Ok. Thanks. I will go through them and post a footprint chart where the 30K sellers came in. I will also explain how the market broke down through support this morning.
The line in the sand was broken this morning to my surprise, but what do I know? Mr. market is my master...
Hello,
Major support held this morning in the ES at 1177. Look for a retest of the breakdown in the overnight session @ 1187, giving you a quick short trade. We are at the bottom of the 2 week channel so the bounce down from the overnight breakdown may not be very pronounced.
This...
The fade at 1193.5 was a great 5 handle (point) pickup, but my dam data feed went down. 30,000 aggressive sellers came in at 92.75 making it a no brainer.
Man I need a real broker.
The market stopped at a low volume area at 1187. I missed that one. Was looking for it to go a...
Hello,
The overnight session found support near the high volume area of 1185.5. I am looking to go long between there and overnight support at 1184.25
The volume POC above at 1193.5 should provide a good fade trade of at least 2 points.
The dollar has tested support a few days ago, so...
