    Charting software offering gradeint backgrounds?

I'm sure loving the new Medved Trader. :)

    14 monitor setup

It's working nicely so far. This is with the newly released Medved Trader chart software. Radiates a bit of heat, though when all the screens are on. I added a TV on top, above middle monitors. How'd the topic get to 7300 views?

    Case suggestions

I've seen this photo before somewhere... Core 2 Duo wouldn't work so well for trading though. :D

    Case suggestions

I actually got rid of my integrated water cooler, and replaced it with a Thermalright HR-22. Temps don't go above 45c now (down from 60c with an integrated water cooler), and it runs almost silent at full load. Too bad I can't silence the video card on that system, but it's in a Fractal Design...

    Case suggestions

Pretty fancy case. I'd consider it if I had to move the computer much, nice handles, and it has a front e-sata port which I've actually not seen any cases with that before. I'm really loving my Silverstone FT02, it keeps my video cards very cool now (under 50c), and it makes no noise since I...

    Case suggestions

Actually, it's window is (unlike most cases) on the right side of the case. It is at the right end of the desk, so you end up seeing it as you walk into the room. I've never had a case with a window before, it looks pretty cool actually. The side toward my feet is the back of the case. I also...

    Case suggestions

I had to get the small Accell HDMI active adapters, the mini displayport to DVI didn't fit with the Silverstone case top on, and the extension cables from monoprice didn't work. The video card did not detect the monitors when attached through active adapters on the end of the extension cables. I...

Is the Intel i3 slow for trading purposes?

For the processor alone it's a $70 savings to go i3 over an i5, but for a prebuilt box I don't know.

    Recommended KVM compatible mouse?

I'm going to rma this kvm, a decent 2 button mouse isn't realistic I don't think. Get a kvm with a usb hub in it, maybe that will fix the mouse compatibility problems.

    Recommended KVM compatible mouse?

I just got a KVM, and it specifies that it works with two button mice with a wheel. Unfortunately this is really true, plug in a mouse with more buttons and it doesn't work. I looked around and all the mice have a ton of buttons. I have one old mouse I had that has the three buttons (2 + scroll...

Is the Intel i3 slow for trading purposes?

I think if I were to build an i3 as a backup it could work, as it stands my backup system can't run my monitors. Advantage with these new Z87 chipsets is they let you run 3 monitors off of the integrated video - in addition to the video card outputs. But it would probably be a lot safer to get...

Is the Intel i3 slow for trading purposes?

Well, as I'm going to be running a lot of monitors on one processor, I'd assume the charts would burn a lot of processing power once setup with indicators, studies, trend lines, etc. The information I gleaned from this thread is that doing so would require multiple cores to process. I haven't...

Is the Intel i3 slow for trading purposes?

Guess I needed to see what the general response was to something that low powered. I believe, from this topic (which has helped me a lot) that you really can't have to much performance for a trading computer. More the better. Only reason I might nickel and dime is if it weren't being used...

Is the Intel i3 slow for trading purposes?

I would think most would be by now? I just now looked up Ensign Software's system requirements and it lists for Power Users that it recommends a quad core. So I'd assume it's able to use the cores then. Edit: I just checked Sierra Chart and they recommend a dual core processor. So I would guess...
