Unfortunately I believe that this tax might have a very good chance of passing. Reason? Negative sentiment against wall street is so high now, there may be little opposition to it. Why? Because all those who you think would lobby against it, will actually lobby to get exemptions from it...

Aren't hedge funds the biggest speculators? No more hedge funds if this tax went through. You could not argue that hedge funds should be exempt since they are the biggest speculators. No more hedge funds - yea I definitely see this tax being passed.

The rule is complete BS. There is not good reason to have it. Everyone says it is to prevent small accounts from blowing up. So blowing up large accounts is okay? If you don't have 25K in the account but do not break the rule, aren't you restricted to using 2x daytrading margin? Yet...

I think the the 3 have to be bailed out but with serious concessions. BUT Everytime I see and hear that UAW Gettlef*ck spew his garbage, he convinces me to switch my position and just let the 3 go bankrupt and die. He is like Paulson or Bush when he speaks, makes everyone vommit.
