"...take full responsibility of your own action...owning it up yourself.... Market is a continuous information stream, it's up to you to take advantage of it... it only takes one trader with opposing view to neutralize your position so act accordingly...."

Why reinventing the wheel - just use MATLAB / SIMULINK, and its toobox. There's "Student version" to try on. Yes, the "realtime version" is expensive. see:

There's linux equivalent that's free.
What is the best way to survive in paradise
when storm comes?
Would a tied-down catamaran fair any better
in an isolated beach (no flying debris)?
What do those big sailing cats in the charter
business do in situation like last weekend?
Why rent? Maybe for the first six mo. or so. I would like to buy
or build. - have something to do other than trading. How the
social life on the island - any place to do ballroom dancing or
prof. gym?
cost of partial T1 or ADSL per month??
Metoo, Freeport won me over BVI due to the proximity to Miami. Why's a home building lot only cost $10k at Freeport - $185K for a waterfront home there can't be beat either.
Metooxx, my mindset re. storm is same as yours/local, but just wondering whether the internet connection would get affected
or not. If you have big open positions - would you fly to the
"mainland" just in case?
Thanks metooxx. Those are good considerations. I'll keep them in mind in the future. Developing a local business will also a plus -building own house would be a good start - except moving the building material would be a challenge on those islands.
What do you do when the storm comes -...
Looks like the paradise/offshore topic hit a raw nerve. To do this means leaving family and friends in the "mainland" must cut many ties. Glad to hear that medical doesn't seem to be a concern.
Needless to say nobody is going to do this if gross is less than
100k.
Hey Metooxx, why...
You got that right! :)
However, what do people do with medical - go back
to the "old country" when trouble starts? Usually there's
a three month wait period for health plan to kick in after returning - so any "trouble" better be minor I guess.
Thanks metooxx, sort of came to same conclusion. Sad to leave
the "mainland" but think of all the money one can save (no tax
on any of those "islands").
