They will not take you on FXI at 50k. I trade under a corporation with a 6 figure account, and I trade with Fxr.

HotspotFX is another broker i trade through. The spreads do widen, as does every ECN during news, but it narrows back quickly unlike OANDA. The spreads are good and it is $3 per RT in commission per 100k. Since I trade 30 min timeframe as a minimum, the 10 pip issue is of no concern to me.

JUST because they give you the extra leverage factor, nobody is putting a gun to your head and forcing the trader to overextend a good MM plan.

I followed jack's methods for both swing trading equities and day trading futures. The equities trading works really well....if the market timing is bullish or turning bullish. The day trading of the futures market is a whole other ballgame. Jack attempted to spend an hour or two every day...

No offense man, but please READ what is being said. Of course the spread widened for the CPI. However the spread had narrowed and then widened AGAIN for the releases at 9:15. Last time I checked, the reports being discussed are released 45mins after CPI. In addition, none of the other 4 feeds...

What a friggin joke....it never used to be this bad for every single eco release. I mean, they may as well just say, please do not trade numbers as our system can not handle them properly. The other 4 feeds i was watching did not widen at all.

Wow...a 10 pip spread for a full 9 minutes 30 sec after the release was out....i think their hedging algorithm needs some work.

Of course i did. I do not hedge as you suggest, but I do have a second account that I fund and use for Longer Term plays. For instance I am holding a couple of lots of long USD/CAD with an average of 1.10; I have already scaled some out; next targets are 1.15 and 1.18 and my stop is at 1.1230...
